Bersatu kita Teguh, Bercerai kita Roboh

The Malaysiakini reports:

Kelantan Crown Prince Tengku Faris Petra said today that Malays had been coerced into giving non-Malays citizenship and the latter should therefore not seek equality or special treatment. The crown prince also reiterated that non-Malays should be grateful when the Malays were willing to give citizenship (beri-paksa kerakyatan) to the 2.7 million non Malays into the Tanah Melayu federation.

After celebrating our ‘FREEdom’ for 50 years, my heart “soured” when I read such statements coming out from one of our future rulers who continues to highlight the differences of colour, caste and class in our country. While we cannot rule out there are differences exist among the people as we have seen some minor minor ‘bitching’ happening inside Pakatan Rakyat, I still believe there are even more similiarities that can hold us as one nation, as satu Bangsa Malaysia, instead of dividingly ’categorise’ us as Malay and non-Malay.

While I remain grateful of being conferred the honour of being a ’full-fledged’ Malaysian, I also would like to highlight the contributions and the commitments of the so-call Non Malays in making Malaysia to what she is today! Together with our Malay bumiputera comrades, the non-Malays have been tirelessly toiled to give Malaysia a healthy growth rate of 6% year in year out. While Indonesia was bailed out by the IMF during the 97 economic crisis, Malaysia was able to wheather it out safely due to the unity of our own people. Who else would have help Malaysia? George Soros? LOL…

The crown prince also said, “Therefore, the rakyat must unite and never raise issues regarding Malay rights and special privileges because it is a quid pro quo in gratitude for the giving in of citizenship…”

How to realli unite the rakyat when u got class 1 and class 2? Hindraf would swear that they were treated as Class 3 somemore! Can you really call for unity when actually the leaders of the country are actually practising double standard?? The world is getting smaller. We even know what happens in USA - a half globe away, in just a few minutes! The racial agenda is a thing of the past. The world is changing. So must you. Malaysia must move forward and only unity can allow us to do so!

In his speech, Tengku Raris said the 12th General Election results have shown that the Malays are being “challenged” and thus Malays unity is of the outmost priority.

Ampun Tengku, hamba mintak seribu ampun. In the last 12th GE, BN + UMNO hegemony was challenged! Not Malays!! Please got the facts right. If you think UMNO can rule the country alone, then please ask UMNO to pull out of BN and fight it out in the next election. No single party can rule the country. Even PAS realised this fact! Kindly do not fan such ‘unrealistic’ FEAR in the minds of our Malay comrades! Hey, i tot this is something call ’sedition’??? Did I get it right ah? I’m not highly educated a.k.a boh tha chek, so please dun sue me in the court ok? I dunno alot of things especially Law.

We Malaysians (Malays + non Malays) are an educated lot. A loss of some votes in an election cannot be defined as Melayu dah bercerai. It only meant Melayu dah pandai! Melayu tahu ‘Bersatu kita teguh, bercerai kita roboh’ when it comes to Malaysia as a country for all!
