4 Arrested in Anti-ISA rally

The Malaysiakini reports:

Four persons were detained, including a blogger and a woman activist, during a 45-minute anti-ISA demonstration in George Town, Penang this morning. Social activist BK Ong and blogger K Satish Kumar were detained in Gurney, about 500m away, after they had left the place.
However, Georgetown police chief ACP Azam claimed the duo failed to adhere to police instruction to abandon the ‘illegal’ rally and leave the area.

Here we got another double standard show from our Men in Blue once again. While other BN organised ILLEGAL demos such as MIC-led protest near Karpal Singh’s Service Centre in Jelutong and the infamous Komtar demo went unnoticed by our Polis DiRaja Malaysia, many NGOs and social activists got behind the lokap for organising street rallies of the same nature.

Sigh… I think we should beg His Majesty’s attention on this matter regarding an institution which come directly under His Majesty’s supervision. “Ampun Tuanku, beribu ribu ampun. Patik ingin memohon Tuanku Mirzan to stop all the rot happening in our PDRM. Harap harap pasukan yang berdisplin ini tidak merosot sehingga menjadi PDBN. Patik merayu agar polis polis ni kita dapat menjalankan tugas mereka dengan lebih adil dan saksama. Menjaga keamanan dan keselamatan rakyat jelata! Bukan hanya tahu target pihak Opposition yang mengkritik karenah kerajaan.”

I realli dunno how our Hindraf 5 could have been a threat to our national security. Until today, Abang Musa could not produce any evidence on his allegations that Hindraf was connected with an international terror group. So if you can’t prove your point, then please release those innocent souls who were deprived of their fair trial.

Pak Lah… Pak Lah… you’ve been wrong in almost everything you do ever since the Election Day. Please do at least ONE thing right by releasing the Hindraf 5 where there is one who is realli realli sick and the other is a YB who has been into Parliament elected by the people! You would be an International laughing stock where one of our MP is behind political bars of his own country!

  1. I agree with you that the police are showing double standards.

According to what I know, two of them were SUARAM members, and have been charged under the Police Act. If you’re interested, I wrote about it
    here

I could go on for a long long time about the ISA, but I don’t want to steal your thunder.

Anyway, your blog’s cool. Will be coming back.
